Step-By-Step
MCA Process
1. Sample Drop Off + Intake
Inventory IDs are confirmed, chain of custody forms and manifests are signed, test assignments are finalized in Qbench software
2. Homogenizing + Photos Taken
Grinding flower samples, representative photos taken of all samples
3. Sample Weighed for Each Test
A very specific amount is weighed into separate test tubes for each test. Leftovers are saved for confirmations and later destroyed.
4. Sample Extraction + Dilution
Different solvents are used to extract the analytes of interest and dilutions to ensure molecules are within the range of the instrument’s detector are performed.
5. Batch Created + Equipment Calibrated
Samples are grouped together in batches with numerous quality control samples to create a “batch”. Instrument is calibrated with known quantities and checked to make sure functionality is appropriate
6. Data analysis + Quality Control
Software and live human analyst looks at all the data and ensures all required specifications are being met.
7. Secondary Review of Data
A Quality Assurance officer well-versed in the methods and data reviews the batch overall and each individual result to ensure accuracy and consistency
8. Report Created + Reviewed
Data for various tests are compiled together in one document.
9. Report Published
Pdf – emailed to client, can be accessed anytime from client portal. Raw data values can also be exported from Qbench portal for your internal analytics to track trends over time. JSON file – can be found in the client portal to aid integration with 3rd party software .csv to WSLCB – uploaded to CCRS reporting website
