Submitting Samples
- Fill out online form request
- Call us at (253) 382-6900 or email us
- See links to videos:
- with JSON link (I-502 licensees)
- without JSON link
- Concentrates need to be in a sealed container with minimal headspace. Small 6-mL glass jars with silicone lids or small-volume ‘dab jars’ with screw-top lids are best (show generic images of examples)
- Syringes can be difficult to remove high-concentration distillate products and the rubber stopper can dissolve in the presence of high-terpene mixtures.
- Flower – jars or mylar bags work well.
All compliance samples need to be clearly labeled with all required information:
(a) All samples must be deducted, stored, and transported in a way that prevents contamination and degradation.
(b) To maximize sample integrity, samples must be placed in a sanitary container and stored in a location that prevents contamination and degradation.
(c) Each quality control sample container must be clearly marked “quality control sample” and labeled with the following information:
(i) The certificate number and name of the certified lab receiving the sample;
(ii) The license number and registered trade name of the licensee sending the sample;
(iii) The date the sample was collected; and
(iv) The weight of the cannabis, useable cannabis, or cannabis-infused product the sample was collected from.
- Anyone can drop off the samples from M-F, 8am-5pm, HERE.

- In some cases, yes. Individual tests can usually be accommodated relatively easily – full compliance panels are difficult. Microbial tests cannot be run in less than 36-48 hours.
- Indicate rush fees, and they need to contact us for confirmation of receipt date/time and turnaround time
- Log into our client portal
- Pdfs or data exports are available
- Link to instructional video (needs to be made yet)
- Text describing WAC requirements
- Descriptions of what we do in the case of a fail (reprep sample from the start and confirm – microbials are three total tests/averaged)
- Narrative needs to be written
- Lot needs to be destroyed
- Narrative needs to be written
- Lots can be ‘remediated’ or extracted into concentrate using a method that will remove microbes (i.e. solvent extraction).
- Can purge sample further and re-submit for testing? Need to double check this is true.
- Narrative needs to be written
- Anyone you give access to your company profile in Qbench
- We report required test results into the WSLCB CCRS reporting platform using a .csv file format
- All client information and test results are confidential otherwise. We can confirm the authenticity of a COA document to anyone in possession of a document.
- We can only receive manifested samples from WA licensees. We can accept personal samples from medical patients or individual adults who procure legal cannabis within WA state for quantitation of active ingredients or contaminant screening
CCRS
- Description of LCB process with links (see conflabs as example)
- We convert our results into a .csv file that gets submitted at the same time we release results to the client.
- Incoming JSON links – These are used to create order requests in Qbench easily – it includes Sample Names, Inventory IDs, quantities and indicates if the sample is intended to be medically-compliant.
- Lab results JSON links – These are links that the lab generates with the results. It can be access through your client portal and are used to bring the test results into your 3rd party integration software.
Medically Compliant Testing
Medically-compliant (“DOH”) testing includes a heavy metals test in addition to the normal I-502 tests.
- The final product only needs cannabinoids and water activity if it’s an edible candy/food product. It’s up to the licensee to keep track of all the testing.
- If the client has tested the intermediate at our lab, we are happy to include the intermediate’s test results with the ‘final product’ test results in the final COA so all the testing is easily viewable in one document.
- The Department of Health oversees Medical Cannabis products in WA. See their guidelines for using the logo here: https://doh.wa.gov/you-and-your-family/cannabis/medical-cannabis/product-compliance/compliance-logos
- We provide the logo on our COA as a courtesy to the client – it is not REQUIRED by rule to appear on the COA.
- If the licensee has all supporting test results necessary, a product can be labeled medically-compliant even if the COA doesn’t explicitly state this.
